Adebayo Alleges Police Siege at SDP Headquarters

Prince Adewol Adebayo, a former presidential candidate, has raised alarms regarding a police siege at the Social Democratic Party (SDP) headquarters, which occurred shortly before the presidential nomination screening process for the 2027 general elections. Adebayo accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of orchestrating the operation to disrupt the SDP's internal processes and prevent the emergence of a viable presidential candidate.

He specifically mentioned that the police action was allegedly carried out by loyalists of Tinubu, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan.

Adebayo characterized the police presence as a tactic to destabilize the party's internal processes and labeled it an attempt by Tinubu to impose a one-man rule in Nigeria. The incident reportedly created panic among party officials, with police seen at the SDP secretariat in Wuse 2, Abuja, during the early hours of Thursday.
