Bandits Abduct 10 in Kwara Community Palace Attack

In a coordinated attack around midnight, armed bandits stormed the Yashikira community in Baruten Local Government Area, Kwara State, setting parts of the Emir's palace on fire and abducting 10 residents. The assault occurred at approximately 2:00 AM, targeting the Emir's palace and the Yashikira police division headquarters.

The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers, who reportedly arrived on motorcycles, fired sporadically, causing residents to flee into nearby bushes. Among those abducted were three wives of the Emir and four children, raising significant security concerns in the region.

In response, security agencies, including the military and police, have initiated a full-scale tactical operation to locate the victims and apprehend the assailants. This incident adds to the growing insecurity issues in Nigeria, particularly in the northern regions.
