Bidding Begins for 56 Secondary Schools in Sokoto

The Sokoto State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has officially commenced the bidding process for the construction of 56 secondary schools, which includes 28 junior secondary schools and 28 senior secondary schools. This announcement was made by Malam Ibrahim Iya during a flag-off ceremony held at the AGILE office along Garba Nadama Road in Sokoto.

Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala, the chairman of the project steering committee, emphasized the importance of adhering to contract specifications and guidelines to ensure quality work. He urged successful bidders to collaborate closely with the ministry to meet the expected standards.

The Sokoto State Commission of Finance, represented by Rilwanu Bello, noted that Sokoto is the first state in the North West zone to initiate the construction of schools under the AGILE project, which fulfills the necessary requirements for World Bank approval. Dr.

Mansur Isah Buhari, the Sokoto AGILE project coordinator, provided details on the bidding process, while Dr. Sanusi Aliyu Binji assured that the ministry would closely monitor the construction to ensure compliance with quality standards.
