NAQS Warns Against Fake Recruitment Scams in Nigeria

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) issued a public advisory on Monday, signed by ACG Issaka Ahmed, the Director of Human Resources, warning applicants against engaging with unofficial social media groups and individuals claiming to represent the agency during its ongoing recruitment exercise. The agency emphasized that its recruitment process is entirely free of charge and does not require any payments.

This advisory comes in response to increasing recruitment scams targeting job seekers in Nigeria, where fraudsters create fake groups on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook to extort money from applicants. NAQS urged the public, particularly job seekers, to rely only on its official communication channels for authentic information regarding the recruitment process.

The agency also warned that no individual or organization has been authorized to collect money or guarantee employment on its behalf and vowed to prosecute anyone found impersonating the agency or attempting to defraud applicants.
