AIG Olohundare Jimoh Receives Anti-Crime Award 2025

Olohundare Jimoh, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, received the award for Most Outstanding Anti-Crime Police Chief in West and Central Africa for 2025, recognizing his innovative crime prevention strategies during his tenure as Commissioner of Police in Lagos State. The award was presented by the Security Watch Africa Initiative Network at the 19th African Security Watch Awards in Banjul, The Gambia.

Due to official engagements, Jimoh could not attend the ceremony, but the award was later presented to him in Lagos by Patrick Apambu and Elizabeth Ndanku. Jimoh dedicated the honor to his team, emphasizing teamwork and professionalism.

He credited the success in Lagos to proactive policing initiatives, including the Eko Strike Force, which expanded its fleet significantly. He also noted the importance of community policing in enhancing intelligence gathering.

Jimoh reflected on the peaceful local government elections in Lagos, assuring continued commitment to tackling crime and strengthening public confidence in policing.
