Alcaraz to Miss French Open and Rome Masters Due to Injury

Carlos Alcaraz, a 22-year-old tennis star, will miss both the French Open and the Rome Masters following a wrist injury sustained during his first-round match against Otto Virtanen at the Barcelona Open. During the match, Alcaraz felt pain in his right wrist while returning a shot and received medical attention at 5-4 in the first set, ultimately winning the match 6-4, 6-2.

Afterward, he withdrew from the tournament, and subsequent medical tests revealed the injury's severity. Alcaraz, who has won the last two French Open titles, is taking a cautious approach to his recovery, with no set return date announced.

He previously withdrew from the Madrid Open and is focused on bouncing back stronger. Alcaraz made history earlier this year by winning the Australian Open in February, completing a career Grand Slam and breaking Rafael Nadal's record as the youngest player to win seven major titles in the Open Era.
