Anambra State Arrests Illegal Revenue Collectors in Nnewi and Onitsha

Anambra State Internal Revenue Service has apprehended five individuals in Nnewi, including Edwin Okonkwo, Sunni Obasi, Christian Oziri, Christian Chinedu Nnamdi Nwori, for engaging in illegal revenue collection from tricycle riders, collecting amounts ranging from N300 to N500. Similarly, four suspects, identified as Ikenna Udoji, Kosi Iwobi, Chidera Ogbogu, were arrested in Onitsha for the same offense.

The arrests were made in line with the state government's directive, led by Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, to clamp down on illegal revenue collection activities.

The suspects are to be charged to court and remanded in prison as the state government condemns such actions and assures the public of stopping illegal cash collections in Anambra State.
