APC Lawmaker Demands Accountability for Hospital Donations

An All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker confronted the management and staff of Umaisha General Hospital regarding the status of fans and mattresses he personally donated. He inquired about more than 50 ceiling fans, approximately 40 standing fans, and 50 orthopaedic mattresses funded from his own resources, intended to enhance conditions for patients and healthcare workers.

During the confrontation, a hospital staff member explained that some mattresses had been given to recently discharged patients for temporary home use, with an expectation of return after two months, stating that about seven mattresses had left the hospital this way. The lawmaker remained unsatisfied with this explanation and continued to press for information on the remaining items, emphasizing the donations were made for the community's welfare.

He reiterated his previous directive for the hospital to return the mattresses to a specific location and offered to provide additional mattresses to any staff member in need, while still expressing concern over the lack of accountability for his contributions.
