APC Chairman Killed, Three Abducted in Kano Attack

On Sunday night, gunmen stormed Rantan village in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and the abduction of three others. The deceased were identified as Alhaji Buba Garba, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Rantan Ward, and his neighbor, Sulaiman Aliko, who was shot while attempting to assist during the attack.

The assailants, who arrived on motorcycles, also attempted to abduct a local businessman, Alhaji Sa’adu, but only succeeded in taking his two children and the wife of the deceased APC chairman. This incident marks the second abduction attempt in the community.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, confirmed the incident, stating that security agencies have launched operations in the area to track down the attackers and prevent further incidents. He assured residents that efforts are being intensified to address the security challenges posed by these incursions.
