Army Refutes Boko Haram Ambush Claims, Highlights Successes

The Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, represented by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, issued a statement on Tuesday addressing claims of an ambush by remnants of Boko Haram and ISWAP. The task force dismissed these claims as outdated propaganda, emphasizing that the reports were based on old photographs and aimed to mislead the public.

They noted that recent operations had resulted in significant successes, including the neutralization of insurgents and the recovery of weapons and cash intended for financing terrorist activities. Specifically, troops intercepted logistics supplies worth thirty-seven million naira and engaged insurgents in the Konduga Local Government Area, neutralizing twenty insurgents and recovering critical items.

The statement urged citizens to remain calm, support security agencies, and verify information from credible sources to combat terrorist propaganda. The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to defeating terrorism and restoring peace and stability in North East Nigeria.
