Nigerian Army Denies Attack on Bishop Kukah's Residence

The Nigerian Army has officially debunked claims regarding an alleged attack on the residence of Bishop Matthew Kukah and the Sokoto Cathedral. In a statement issued on Saturday, signed by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, the Army described the claims circulating on social media as false and misleading.

The statement emphasized that there was no attack in Sokoto State and reassured that the safety and security of Bishop Kukah and the Sokoto Cathedral remain intact. It was noted that the cleric is currently fulfilling his Easter duties without any disruption.

The Army reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and stated that robust security measures are in place to guarantee peace and security during the Easter celebrations in the area.
