Nigerian Army Denies Attack on Sokoto Cathedral, Kukah's Home

The Nigerian Army's 8 Division, under the command of Lt. Col.

Olaniyi Osoba, has officially debunked social media reports alleging an attack on the Sokoto Catholic Cathedral and the residence of Bishop Matthew Kukah. In a statement released on Saturday, the Army described these claims as misleading and unfounded, emphasizing that there was no attack in Sokoto State.

The Army reassured the public that both the Bishop's residence and the cathedral remain safe. It was noted that Bishop Kukah is currently engaged in Easter duties without any disruption.

The Army also highlighted that adequate security measures have been implemented to ensure peaceful Easter celebrations across the area. Furthermore, the Nigerian Army is collaborating with security agencies to maintain the safety of residents in Sokoto State.
