163 Abduction Victims Rescued in Kwara State Operation

On February 3, 2026, armed bandits attacked Woro community in Kaiama local government Area of Kwara State, resulting in the abduction of numerous residents and the deaths of several others. After six months in captivity, 163 victims were rescued by security forces and transported to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, late Thursday night.

They were received at the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division, Sobi Barracks, before being moved to an undisclosed location. The rescue operation followed sustained military efforts and coordinated actions by various security agencies.

The rescued victims are expected to be officially handed over to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Their arrival signifies a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to secure the release of those abducted, while authorities continue to verify the total number of rescued individuals and provide necessary care and support.
