Rescued Kaiama Kidnap Victims Arrive in Ilorin

Victims abducted during the attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State on February 3, 2026, have arrived in Ilorin after being rescued from captivity. The victims were taken by armed bandits who invaded the community, resulting in several deaths and the abduction of many residents.

Following extensive military operations and coordinated efforts by security agencies, the victims regained their freedom and were transported from Niger State to Ilorin late on Thursday. Upon arrival, they were first received at the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division, Sobi Barracks, Ilorin, before being moved to an undisclosed location for the night.

The victims are expected to be officially handed over to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who has actively engaged security authorities to ensure their safe return. This event marks a significant breakthrough in the efforts to secure the release of the abductees, with authorities continuing to verify the number of those rescued and provide necessary care and support.
