ASUU Commends OOU VC for Global Ranking Achievement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) branch, commended the university's management for its notable performance in the July 2026 Webometrics Global Ranking, where OOU ranked 2,338 out of 32,000 universities worldwide, 57th in Africa, and eighth in Nigeria. In a statement signed by Chairperson Yinusa Ganiyu, ASUU-OOU praised Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ayodeji Agboola and his management team for this achievement, which reflects the university's enhanced visibility, academic productivity, research output, digital presence, and global recognition.

The union emphasized the importance of continued support for the university's leadership and collective efforts to sustain and improve upon these gains. ASUU-OOU called for a unified commitment among all stakeholders to avoid distractions that could undermine the progress made over the past four years, asserting that the interests of Olabisi Onabanjo University must remain paramount.
