ADC Condemns Hoodlum Attack on Party Event in Lagos

The African Democrat Congress (ADC) in Lagos State denounced the disruption of its event by hoodlums in Lagos. During a ceremony to welcome former Labour Party members to ADC in Alimosho Local Government Area, about 100 hoodlums stormed the venue, wielding weapons and assaulting party members.

The attack led to injuries of varying degrees among party members. The event was later relocated to an alternative venue, Eco Center in Egbeda.

The Chairman of Labour Party in Alimosho described the attack as unwarranted. The police reportedly stopped the planned opening ceremony, citing lack of approval for the event ground.

Anjolaiya, in a statement, criticized the police's role in sealing off the venue and instructed them to act in accordance with the constitution to protect lives and property. The incident highlights concerns about political violence and intimidation affecting democratic processes in Lagos.
