Bandits Kill Father, Daughter, Abduct 17 in Sokoto Attack

On Wednesday at approximately 12:00 PM, a group of bandits attacked a village in Sokoto, resulting in the death of Haruna Dan Kwambo and his 8-year-old daughter. The assailants, who arrived on foot to avoid detection, began shooting sporadically, prompting residents to flee to safety.

During the attack, the bandits killed Dan Kwambo and abducted a total of 17 individuals, which included two wives, a brother's wife, and several children. The attack also involved the rustling of 50 cows.

Residents reported that this incident was not isolated, recalling previous attacks where people were killed and abducted. Following the incident, local sources indicated a lack of security presence in the area and called on authorities to rescue the abducted individuals.

Efforts to contact the police for assistance were unsuccessful, as messages sent to the public relations office went unanswered.
