Bandits Kill Six Farmers in Kaduna, Community in Grief

Six farmers were killed in a bandit attack in Kaduna, specifically in the Birnin Gwari area, as reported by the Bepu union. Dr.

Isah Muhammad, the chairman of the union, described the incident as tragic and disturbing, expressing deep sorrow and condemning the attack in strong terms. This incident has plunged the Birnin Gwari community into grief and fear, highlighting the ongoing insecurity in the region despite efforts to restore peace.

The union emphasized that the continuous attacks pose a serious threat to the fragile peace and stability of the area, which has struggled to achieve safety in recent years. They warned that such violence discourages farmers from returning to their farms during the current farming season, which could negatively impact food production and increase food prices, worsening economic hardship across Kaduna State.

The union called on the federal and Kaduna State governments to take urgent measures to tackle the criminal groups operating in the area and to strengthen security presence to protect lives and property.
