Bauchi State Reduces Working Hours for Ramadan 2026

The Bauchi State Government, under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, has announced a reduction in working hours for civil servants in light of the upcoming Ramadan period. A circular dated February 17, 2026, and signed by Ismail Ibn L.

Garam, the Director of Establishment Office, outlines that civil servants will now close at 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday during Ramadan, while the closing time on Fridays will remain unchanged at 1:00 PM. This decision is intended to allow Muslim civil servants to fully participate in religious activities and observe the tenets of Ramadan.

The circular encourages workers to use this period for prayer and to promote progress and peaceful coexistence in Bauchi State. The new working hours will take effect at the end of the 1447AH Ramadan fast period in 2026.
