Bauchi Teen Arrested Over Drowning of 17-Year-Old

Aisanu Nura, an 18-year-old male, has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with the drowning of 17-year-old Abdullahi Muhammad in Kari Village, Darazo Local Government Area. The incident occurred on May 24, 2026, as reported by police spokesperson Nafiu Habib.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Nura allegedly deceived Muhammad into going to the river, leading to his drowning. The police responded swiftly to the scene and commenced preliminary investigations, although the victim's body has yet to be recovered.

Ongoing search operations are in place to locate the deceased. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation, as directed by Police Commissioner Sani Omolori Aliyu.

The police have assured the public of justice and urged parents and guardians to supervise teenagers and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
