Benue State Government Plans Airport with Export Zone Along Makurdi-Gboko Road

The Benue State government plans to construct an airport with an export processing zone along the Makurdi-Gboko road. Commissioner Frederick Ikyaan disclosed the project during a meeting with traditional rulers from Guma, Gboko, and Tarka local government areas.

The airport, featuring international and domestic cargo wings, will be situated near the Agasha junction in Makurdi, requiring 100 hectares of land. Governor Hyacinth Alia aims for immediate project commencement following consultations with the traditional rulers.

The initiative aims to boost economic activities, enhance security, and provide adequate compensation to affected indigenes. The project received praise from the local chiefs for its potential to address various challenges in the region.
