Benue Youths Rescue Kidnap Victims, Arrest Suspects

In the early hours of Thursday, local youths in Ugbokolo, Okpokwu Local Government Area, Benue State, intervened in a kidnapping attempt that occurred on Wednesday night along the Ugbokolo-Aokp road. A resident named Ada reported that several individuals were abducted by armed men, prompting local youths to mobilize and launch a search operation.

Their efforts led to the successful rescue of five victims and the arrest of three alleged kidnappers. The chairman of the local government, Adah Inalegwu, confirmed the incident, stating that while the kidnappers had abandoned the victims and fled, the community's vigilance was crucial in preventing further harm.

The rescued victims were reunited with their families, and the apprehended suspects were handed over to security agencies for further investigation. The police's public relations officer, DSP Udem Edet, had not received a report on the incident at the time of the article.
