Borno Commissioner Threatens Voters Against APC Support

Buba, the Borno Commissioner, made a controversial statement during a campaign inauguration event organized by the Tinubu City Boy Movement, which supports President Bola Tinubu’s administration and his anticipated 2027 re-election bid. He warned critics and opposition figures using violent imagery, stating, “Whoever shows us a finger, we are ready to cut off his fingers.” He further elaborated that those who oppose the government would face exclusion from government benefits, asserting, “The government is our government.

Those who follow us will enjoy the honey; if you refuse, then you will be flogged.” His comments have drawn significant criticism, raising concerns about political tolerance and the safety of dissenting voices in Borno State. Critics argue that such rhetoric from a public official undermines democratic principles.
