TCN Requests AEDC to Supply Power Amid Apo Substation Issues

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced a capacity deficit at the Apo substation, which was identified during an inspection that revealed oil spillage around a 100MVA, 132/33kV transformer. TCN's General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, stated that further investigation by maintenance crews uncovered faults in the red and yellow phases of the 33kV bush connected to the transformer.

As a result, TCN requested the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to supply customers from other feeders while repairs on the transformer are ongoing. TCN expressed apologies for the inconvenience caused to AEDC's electricity customers affected by the feeder issues and assured that efforts are being made to restore the transformer promptly.
