CDS and DSS DG Honored for Leadership in Security

General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defence Staff, and Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Director General of the Department of State Services, were among those honored for their outstanding leadership in combating insecurity in Nigeria at the 8th Silent Hero Award held in Abuja. The event recognized strategic contributions to national security and the promotion of peace and safety for citizens.

Other distinguished recipients included Taiwo Lakanu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police. The ceremony featured calls for Nigerians to support security agencies and emphasized the need for credible intelligence and community collaboration to address terrorism and banditry.

Chris Isiguzo, President of the Congress of African Journalists, received the Silent Hero Leadership Award and urged leaders to remain accountable for the welfare of citizens. John Onoja of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps described the initiative as timely, promoting patriotism and selfless service among Nigerians.
