Omu-Aran Community Welcomes New Army Battalion Deployment

At a welcome ceremony for the newly deployed Army battalion in Omu-Aran, traditional rulers and community leaders expressed their support and gratitude. The Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba AbdulRaheem Adeoti, praised the establishment of the battalion under Commanding Officer Lt.-Col. Kehinde Avoseh and thanked military authorities for maintaining the battalion's location.

Irepodun Local Government's Executive Chairman, Abdulazeez Yakub, acknowledged the efforts of the Nigerian and Kwara State Governments in this initiative and assured full cooperation from the council. Prince Niyi Adeyeye, President of the Omu-Aran Development Association, stated that the battalion's presence would restore peace and security in the community.

Retired General Lasisi Abidoye recognized the contributions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRazaq in establishing the battalion. Brig. Gen. Nicholas Rume, Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, expressed appreciation for the community's warm reception and emphasized that the deployment aligns with the Nigerian Government's directive to enhance the Army's operational capacity.
