Pearse Promises Transparency in Lagos Governorship Bid

Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, the Lagos State Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 elections, announced his commitment to transparency and accountability in governance. He declared that the era of hand-picked governors in Lagos State would end upon his election.

Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Pearse emphasized the need for equitable development, criticizing the concentration of progress in Lagos Island while other divisions, such as Ikeja, Badagry, Epe, and Ikorodu, remain neglected. He introduced a 7-point covenant with Lagosians, pledging that state resources would be utilized for comprehensive development, with zero tolerance for embezzlement of public funds.

Pearse's plan includes holding quarterly town hall meetings for accountability and prioritizing community engagement. He traced his heritage across Lagos’ five IBILE divisions, reinforcing his commitment to the entire state rather than specific areas.

His governance approach will focus on service before self, ensuring that no area is left behind in development initiatives.
