Troops Discover Mass Burial Site, Weapons in Borno

On March 21, troops from the 68 Battalion conducted an exploit patrol in the Duguri general area of Borno State, as part of ongoing efforts to consolidate recent gains against insurgents. During this operation, they discovered a mass burial site containing eight bodies, believed to belong to insurgents.

Additionally, the troops found a suspected medical facility used to treat wounded fighters. This development is seen as a major indicator of heavy losses suffered by the insurgents, who have been forced to abandon positions due to intensified military offensives.

The operation aimed to track fleeing terrorists and deny them freedom of movement within the area. The findings underscore the significant casualties recorded among the insurgents during recent clashes with the troops, who are intensifying patrol and clearance operations to prevent the regrouping of fleeing insurgents.
