Defence Ministry Partners FHA for Affordable Housing

The Ministry of Defence, under the leadership of Minister Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), has announced a partnership with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA), the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), and other mortgage institutions to offer affordable housing for its staff. This initiative is part of an expanded welfare package aimed at improving the living conditions of personnel.

During a town hall meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Ship House, Abuja, Musa emphasized the importance of civilian personnel in national security and urged staff to remain vigilant. He addressed concerns regarding land access and housing affordability, stating that the ministry is exploring options beyond land acquisition, including installment payments for homes.

Musa also encouraged staff to report suspicious activities and highlighted the need for civil-military cooperation. He announced plans for structured engagement programs to foster collaboration between civilian employees and military personnel, reinforcing the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to enhance the welfare of civil servants.
