Former Nasarawa Accountant-General Urges Democracy Defense

Dr. Zakka Ledkwi Yakubu, the former Accountant-General of Nasarawa State, made a call to citizens to actively defend democracy and justice in the state.

Speaking in Lafia, he expressed concerns about the principles of fairness and transparency in the political process, warning against the hijacking of democracy by a few individuals. Yakubu emphasized that the political future of Nasarawa State should be determined by the people, not a select few, and urged citizens to reject any system that excludes major voices from decision-making.

He highlighted the need for collective action to ensure that leadership emerges from free, fair, and credible processes. Yakubu called on party members, youth, and women across the state to stand firm in defending democratic values and to ensure that every community, regardless of size, is respected and included in leadership opportunities.

He stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and unity in public decision-making.
