Bauchi Police Host Stakeholders Meeting to Boost Security

On Thursday, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Zachariah Fera Achinyan, hosted a stakeholders meeting in Bauchi under the theme of crime fighting and sustaining community partnerships. This meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration among security agencies and local stakeholders to address security challenges in the North East region.

Achinyan, representing the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, emphasized the importance of community cooperation in tackling Nigeria's growing security issues, including the rise of cybercrime. He urged the public to support police efforts and provide actionable intelligence.

The meeting also highlighted operational challenges faced by the Bauchi State Police Command, such as inadequate arms, ammunition, and patrol vehicles. Sani Omolori Aliyu, the Commissioner of Police, noted the command's evolution over the past five decades and its commitment to improving operational strategies.

Stakeholders, including former deputy governors and community leaders, pledged unwavering support for the police and suggested initiatives like establishing a crime control radio station in local languages.
