Borno Police Urge Residents to Share Intelligence for Security

Deputy Inspector General of Police Zachariah Achinyan called on residents of Borno State to support security operations by sharing credible information. During a visit to Maiduguri, Achinyan emphasized the importance of community engagement in enhancing police effectiveness in crime prevention.

He stated that the police cannot operate effectively without the community's cooperation and urged residents to collaborate with law enforcement. Achinyan reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to professionalism and accountability, assuring that information provided would be treated confidentially.

He also commended police personnel for their resilience in counter-insurgency operations in the northeast and encouraged them to remain disciplined and proactive in addressing emerging security threats. The visit included senior police officials such as AIG Usman Mu Azu Moham and AIG Zone 15 Dahiru Moham, as well as representatives from the police community relations committee and traditional and religious leaders.
