Justice Dongban-Mensem Urges Timely Renovation of IBB Golf Club in Abuja

Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, has called on Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, to expedite the renovation of the IBB Golf Course. The golf course, which was closed on April 26, 2025, following internal conflicts, needs rehabilitation to restore its former glory.

Dongban-Mensem emphasized the significance of restoring the golf course, established 35 years ago in the Maitama district, as a national monument. She highlighted the club's historical importance as a pioneer in the region and its potential to boost golf tourism in Nigeria and Africa.

Dongban-Mensem praised Wike's intervention in the past and appealed for his support in completing the laudable project to upgrade the facilities and provide training opportunities for young golfers ahead of the 2028 Olympics. The renovation is crucial not only for the club's prestige but also for Nigeria's image in the global golfing community.
