NDLEA Arrests 3 PWDs, Seizes N5.8bn Drug Stash in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested three persons with disabilities (PWDs) involved in drug trafficking, uncovering a massive stash of illicit drugs valued at N5.8 billion in Lagos. The arrests began on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, when 60-year-old Romanu Nwabara was apprehended in Akpaka Forest, Anambra State, with 250 grams of skunk.

Following intelligence-led operations, 25-year-old Amo Kenneth was arrested on May 7 with 160.3 grams of tramadol and other substances. On May 8, Usman Salisu was caught in Kwara State with 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed in a school bag.

A significant breakthrough occurred when NDLEA's special operations unit raided a stash house in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, recovering 4,000 parcels of 'loud' cannabis weighing 2,326 kilograms. The operation also led to the arrest of Emmanuel Osita Okek, who was found with 129 kilograms of skunk in Nasarawa State.

Additional arrests were made in Ijora Badia, where two suspects were caught processing cannabis.
