DSS Interrogates Aide Over Criticism of Kwara Leaders

The Department of State Services (DSS) interrogated Zakari Hassan, a special assistant to the youth chairman of Kaiama Local Government, after he publicly criticized Vice President Kashim Shettima and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over their inadequate response to recent killings in the area. Hassan's comments, made in a viral video, highlighted the poor security situation in Kaiama, particularly in Woro Nuku, where he alleged heavy casualties and abductions occurred.

Following his remarks, there was significant public outcry, leading to protests by local youth demanding government action. Although Hassan faced an initial arrest, he was released due to community intervention.

However, the DSS has summoned him again, raising concerns about his safety and the government's handling of the security crisis. Hassan's statements included accusations of neglect by federal and state authorities, emphasizing the dire need for urgent action to restore security in the region.
