DSS Arrests Arms Couriers, Rescues Kidnap Victim in Gombe

The Department of State Services (DSS) conducted an operation in Gombe State, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, Muhammad Alhaji Moham (55) and Sani Gesha (47), who were identified as arms couriers. The operation, which took place in the Mararaban Tula area of Kaltungo Local Government, led to the seizure of two rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) warheads and an RPG launcher.

These items were linked to a bandit network operating across Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Adamawa states. The DSS monitored the trafficking syndicate for three weeks before launching the operation.

During the investigation, the suspects confessed that the arms were intended for delivery to a resident named Ardo Hamma Ari in Kukawa village, Alkaleri Local Government Area, Bauchi State. Additionally, the DSS rescued a six-year-old boy, Mohammad Jabir, who had been kidnapped by Salisu Hussain while riding a motorcycle.

The swift response of the DSS led to the boy's safe return, and the suspects are currently in custody and will be arraigned in court soon.
