Ebonyi State Approves ₦30,000 Stipend for NYSC Members

The Ebonyi State Governor has approved a monthly stipend of ₦30,000 for each National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in the state. This approval was announced during the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Afikpo.

Chidiebere Onyia, the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, conveyed the governor's commitment to the welfare, security, and development of corps members. He encouraged the corps members to use their service year for personal development and community contributions.

NYSC State Coordinator, Malgwi Maidariya, expressed gratitude for the state government's support but called for further intervention to improve infrastructure at the orientation camp, including renovations and the establishment of a Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development centre. The ceremony featured the administration of the oath of allegiance, tactical displays, traditional performances, and an inspection of camp infrastructure.
