EFCC Vows to Respect Court Order Restraining Arrest of Awka Anglican Bishop Ibezim

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has promised to comply with a court order restraining the arrest of Rev. Dr.

Alex Ibezim, a bishop in Awka Diocese, who is facing allegations of financial misconduct. The bishop, represented by his counsel Beluolisa Nwofor SAN, secured the court order during proceedings at the Anambra High Court in Awka.

The EFCC confirmed that they will not issue any invitation letters or attempt to arrest the bishop until the case is resolved. The trial has been adjourned to November 27, 2025, for further proceedings.
