Eguavoen Selects 28 Players for Super Falcons Olympic Qualifiers

Augustine Eguavoen, the interim head coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, has named a 28-player squad for the upcoming 2028 Olympic Games qualifying fixtures against Comoros. The squad announcement occurred on September 29 via the Super Falcons’ official 𝕏 account.

Notable selections include captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forwards Asisat Oshoala and Janet Akekoromowei, and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. Defender Ashleigh Plumptre returns after missing the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

The squad also features several young talents such as Christiana Uzoma and Farida Abdulwahab. Players are to report to the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on October 3 for preparations.

The matches will be held at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo, as Comoros lacks a CAF-approved venue. The first leg is scheduled for October 9, with the return leg on October 13.

This two-legged tie marks the beginning of Nigeria's campaign for a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
