Osun Police Warn Against Disruption During Eid Celebrations

The Osun State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ibrahim Gotan, has issued a warning to the public regarding potential disruptions to peace during the forthcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations. In a statement obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday, Gotan emphasized the need for parents to caution their children against unlawful gatherings that could lead to public disorder.

The command has made adequate preparations to protect lives and property during the celebrations, with personnel strategically deployed across the state to ensure a hitch-free festival. The police have also urged religious community leaders to continue promoting messages of harmony and mutual respect.

Additionally, road users and motorists are reminded to obey traffic rules, and the public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The Osun State Police Command extends warm greetings to the Muslim community as they complete the holy month of Ramadan.

Furthermore, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps announced the deployment of 53,500 personnel nationwide to ensure peace during the Eid celebrations.
