INEC Confirms Electronic Transmission for Ekiti Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured that the governorship election results in Ekiti State will be transmitted electronically, enhancing transparency for the election scheduled on June 20. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the commission's representative, stated during a press briefing that significant progress has been made in preparations for the election, which includes the deployment of a bimodal voter accreditation system to authenticate voter accreditation.

INEC is committed to conducting a free, fair, credible, and inclusive election, urging eligible voters to participate peacefully. Thirteen political parties are fielding candidates for the governorship election.

The commission is also focusing on voter education, particularly among women, youth, and persons with disabilities, and has made provisions for accessible voting. Additionally, INEC is collaborating with security agencies to ensure a secure electoral process and has emphasized the importance of collecting Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the election, as no PVC means no vote.
