Ekiti PDP Disowns Group Supporting Makinde's 2027 Bid

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has publicly disowned a faction within the party that purportedly supports Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's presidential ambition for the 2027 elections. This faction, identified as Stakeholders of the PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), announced grassroots mobilization efforts during an event titled “APM Awareness Campaign” held in Ado Ekiti.

In response, PDP State Chairman Lanre Omolase issued a statement on Friday, titled “Ekiti PDP Disowns Makinde, APM,” clarifying that the party does not endorse the group or any mobilization efforts for Makinde. Omolase emphasized that the Ekiti State PDP, under his leadership, has not authorized any such initiatives and urged the public to disregard any claims made without official sanction from the party's recognized leadership.

He reiterated the party's commitment to due process and cautioned against the misuse of the PDP's name for personal political gains.
