Edo State Sport Commission Rewards Para Games Medalists

Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sport Commission, recognized and rewarded medalists from Team Edo during a reception ceremony following their participation in the 3rd National Para Games held in Abuja.

Team Edo finished in third place overall, achieving a total of 51 medals, which included 25 gold, 14 silver, and 12 bronze. Enabulele expressed pride in the athletes' commitment, determination, and discipline throughout the championship, despite the team being the smallest contingent.

He announced a cash reward of N50,000 for each gold medalist as a token of appreciation. The ceremony highlighted the need for improved welfare and support for the athletes, with Enabulele promising to provide adequate provisions for future tournaments.

The overall winners of the games were Enugu State, followed by Bayelsa State in second place, while Edo State secured third place among the competing states.
