Bayo LGA Initiates Borehole Project for Clean Water Access

The Bayo Local Government Area in Borno State is facing significant challenges in providing potable drinking water to its residents due to the prolonged effects of insurgency, which have severely limited infrastructure development. The lack of safe and reliable drinking water has serious implications for health, sanitation, education, and economic activities, particularly affecting women and children who often travel long distances to find water, sometimes relying on unsafe sources.

In response, the current local government administration, led by Hon. Usman Habu Balbaya Maidoki, has initiated the construction of boreholes in the community of Tuji.

This project aims to address the longstanding water challenges and improve access to clean water, thereby reducing the hardships faced by rural dwellers. The initiative is seen as a positive step towards grassroots development, and there is a call for the local government to continue expanding borehole provisions to underserved communities, which will significantly enhance the quality of life for the people in Bayo.
