False Claims of Ogogo's Daughter Welcoming Baby Boy

On August 26, 2026, claims emerged on Nigerian social media alleging that Shakirat Taiwo, known as Kira Taiwo and daughter of the late actor Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo), welcomed a baby boy two days after his death on August 23, 2026. Ogogo passed away at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer and was buried in Ilaro the following day.

The claims were accompanied by visuals labeled "My Daddy's Carbon Copy," suggesting the newborn resembled Ogogo. However, fact-checks revealed that no announcements or confirmations of a new birth were made by Kira or any family member.

The images circulating were identified as recycled content from February 2024, when Kira welcomed her first child, which Ogogo celebrated at the time. The misleading framing of the content as current news was criticized by social media users, who pointed out the inaccuracies.
