Five Terrorists Found Dead After Failed Borno Attack

On Thursday, September 3, troops conducting exploitation operations northeast of Kukawa towards the Jemmu-Alagarno axis discovered the decomposing bodies of five terrorists. These individuals were believed to have sustained fatal injuries during earlier air strikes conducted by Nigerian Air Force platforms supporting the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI.

The discovery indicates the losses suffered by the terrorists during a failed attack and their subsequent withdrawal from the area. The terrorists reportedly abandoned their dead and wounded while fleeing under pressure from ground troops and air operations.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer at Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, reported that troops also recovered various items, including a solar panel and empty ammunition links. The bodies were buried in situ, and this discovery brings the total number of terrorist bodies recovered to nine.

Operation HADIN KAI troops remain vigilant in their efforts to sustain pressure on Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists to prevent them from regrouping and threatening communities in the North East.
