Nigeria's Defence Minister Advocates for Armed Forces Modernization

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through Minister of Defence Christoph Gwabin Musa, reaffirmed its commitment to modernizing the Armed Forces by fostering strategic partnerships and developing local capacities. This initiative aims to enhance technology transfer and sustain the defense industry.

During a recent working visit to Monaco, Musa and senior ministry officials engaged with Marss UK Ltd and its Nigerian partner, Mikopow Ltd, to discuss the implementation of the proposed multi-domain hybrid intelligence shield project. The discussions focused on practical demonstrations of technology aimed at improving Nigeria's national defense architecture, including advanced command, control, surveillance, and integrated security technologies.

Musa emphasized the importance of building indigenous operational capacity and leveraging international expertise to address emerging security threats, such as terrorism and border insecurity. The visit also provided an opportunity to observe live operational demonstrations of radar detection systems and anti-drone technology, which are crucial for strengthening Nigeria's defense capabilities.
