NiMet Launches Committee for Innovation and Research

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) inaugurated a Service Innovation Committee at its headquarters in Abuja as part of its efforts to strengthen research and development and deepen digital transformation. The committee aims to enhance service delivery and align with the federal government's public service reform agenda.

Professor Charles Anosike, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NiMet, emphasized that innovation is a defining pillar of the current administration. He noted that the committee is expected to serve as a catalyst for scientific breakthroughs and explore innovative climate-smart practices.

The committee will support research and development, provide evidence-based recommendations, and advance the agency's strategic goals. It will also oversee progress on innovation initiatives across NiMet, underscoring the agency's commitment to building a culture of excellence and professionalism in response to rapidly changing technological environments and stakeholder demands.
