Nigeria Expands Abuja Premier Warehouse for Health Supply

The Federal Government of Nigeria has commissioned the expanded Abuja Premier Warehouse to strengthen the national health supply chain. The project, which had its foundation laid in April 2025, is designed to enhance the storage and distribution of essential medicines and vaccines across Nigeria.

During the commissioning ceremony, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, and Daju Kachollom, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving commodity security and expanding storage capacity. The warehouse expansion is seen as a major milestone in Nigeria's healthcare delivery system, ensuring that essential health products are stored and delivered efficiently.

The project is supported by the Global Fund and aims to improve logistics efficiency while increasing storage capacity. Professor Pate emphasized the importance of equitable access to quality healthcare services and the need for continued collaboration among stakeholders to achieve better health outcomes for Nigerians.
