FG Invites Proposals for 2027 Finance Bill Reforms

On August 28, the Federal Government of Nigeria announced an invitation for Nigerians and stakeholders to submit proposals that will influence the Finance Bill 2027. This initiative, communicated through a public notice by the Federal Ministry of Finance, seeks to gather practical and evidence-based recommendations aimed at reforming Nigeria’s fiscal laws and improving the economic governance framework.

The ministry encourages submissions from the public, businesses, investors, professional bodies, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and other interested parties. Proposed reforms should address weaknesses in existing fiscal laws while ensuring the revenue system remains effective and does not hinder economic activity.

Priority will be given to proposals that tackle gaps, ambiguities, and implementation challenges in current regulations. Additionally, the ministry seeks recommendations to reduce regulatory burdens, enhance the ease of doing business, boost productivity, and strengthen Nigeria's competitiveness.
